Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Criminal damage.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers have been working closely with local communities to deter and detect antisocial behaviour, including criminal damage. This has included community engagement events where residents can speak directly with Kent Police about their concerns.

A particular focus has been placed on reports of nuisance vehicles and criminal damage in affected areas. Officers continue to seek positive outcomes by increasing visibility, promoting education, and working with those most impacted to reduce this behaviour.

Nuisance bikes.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers have been working hard to reduce nuisance bike reports by increasing visibility in affected areas. This includes using a ‘design it out’ approach, where officers and partner agencies look at how the layout of specific locations contributes to the problem and identify practical changes that can prevent these areas being used for this type of behaviour.

Officers will continue to monitor reports, carry out regular patrols and focus their visibility in hotspot locations to deter offending. They are also promoting education to help riders understand the impact this behaviour has on the wider community.

Antisocial behaviour.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers have been working closely with partner agencies to reduce antisocial behaviour in the area. This includes using Community Resolutions (an agreed outcome between the victim and the person responsible), Community Protection Warnings (a formal warning telling someone their behaviour must stop) and Community Protection Notices (a legal notice requiring the person to change their behaviour). Officers have also used education and workbooks to help change behaviour, supported by a joint multi‑agency approach to achieve positive results for the community.

We have increased visibility and engagement in the area, paying particular attention to local businesses to make sure issues such as antisocial behaviour, shoplifting and nuisance are dealt with quickly and effectively for those reporting concerns.
