Aylesford North & North Downs

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

E-scooters/e-bikes.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers continue to speak with people using e‑scooters to explain the law and where they can be used. Privately owned e‑scooters are not legal to use on public roads, pavements or cycle paths. Where offences are identified, action is taken and e‑scooters can be seized, with riders reported for prosecution.

Officers also check e‑bikes. If an e‑bike has been adapted so that it no longer meets legal limits, the rider may be prosecuted.

Nuisance motorbikes.

Issued 03 February 2026

PC Brown and colleagues have been patrolling the area and dealing with nuisance motorcycles where possible. There have been three reports relating to nuisance bikes in the last three months.

Patrols continue to stop and speak with motorcyclists to offer advice and deal with any offences identified. Officers also pay particular attention to areas where problems have been reported previously, helping to deter issues from returning.

Vehicle crime.

Issued 03 February 2026

There have been four reports of theft from, or theft of, motor vehicles in this ward over the last three months.

Officers continue to carry out patrols when available, providing a visible presence to deter criminal activity. Where appropriate, officers also carry out stop searches and take action to disrupt those suspected of being involved in vehicle‑related crime.
