🚨 Vehicle Theft Prevention Advice 🚨 |
||
|
Good morning,
We have received reports of motor vehicles being stolen in the Tonbridge area. While enquiries are ongoing, we would like to remind residents to take a few simple steps to help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of vehicle crime.
✅ Always lock your vehicle, even if leaving it unattended for only a short time. ✅ Keep keys away from doors, windows and letterboxes. Consider using a signal-blocking pouch (Faraday pouch) for keyless vehicles. ✅ Ensure valuables are removed from view and not left inside your vehicle. ✅ Park in well-lit areas and, where possible, use secure garages or driveways. ✅ Consider installing additional security measures such as steering wheel locks, tracking devices or vehicle immobilisers. ✅ Check your vehicle has been locked, as some thieves may use technology to prevent keyless vehicles from locking properly.
If you witness suspicious activity around vehicles or believe a crime is in progress, please call 999. For non-emergency information or to report suspicious behaviour, contact Kent Police on 101 or via our online reporting services.
Together, we can help keep our community safe and reduce opportunities for vehicle crime.
Many thanks
