Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive
Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Catapults. Issued 03 February 2026 |
Local beat officers have been responding to reports involving catapults and have continued working behind the scenes to identify those responsible, using information and evidence provided by the community. This work led to a 17‑year‑old in the Bethersden area being issued with a Community Protection Warning after being identified on CCTV firing projectiles from a catapult towards birds. The warning relates to catapult possession and wildlife crime. A second individual linked to the same incident is also being sought so that a Community Protection Warning can be issued. Farm equipment thefts. Issued 03 February 2026 |
Following reports of suspicious activity involving plant and machinery in the Smarden area, officers from the Rural Task Force visited the affected location and marked more than 20 items as a preventative safety measure. Actioned 24 March 2026 |
