Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Road safety.

Issued 15 April 2026

Road safety continues to be a priority in Borough Green and Platt, particularly in response to concerns about speeding, driving standards and the illegal use of motorbikes and quad bikes on public roads.

Officers have carried out targeted patrols and enforcement activity in locations identified through community reports and local intelligence. A number of vehicles have been stopped, with drivers being given advice and education where appropriate.

Where offences have been identified, enforcement action has been taken. This can include a Traffic Offence Report, which is a formal report used when a driver is suspected of committing a road traffic offence.

This ongoing work aims to improve road safety, deter offending and provide reassurance to the local community. Officers will continue to monitor concerns and take action where necessary.

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Issued 15 April 2026

Officers have increased both targeted and high-visibility patrols in areas where antisocial behaviour has been reported, helping to deter offending and provide reassurance to residents.

Officers are responding to incidents, gathering information and working to identify those responsible. They continue to work closely with local residents, schools, partner agencies and the Parish Council to better understand community concerns and develop effective solutions.

Where appropriate, those involved are given advice and support to help address their behaviour at an early stage. Enforcement action may also be taken when necessary. This can include Community Protection Warnings and Community Protection Notices, which are formal measures used to tackle behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community.

Officers remain committed to reducing antisocial behaviour and improving the quality of life for local residents.

Criminal damage.

Issued 15 April 2026

Reports of criminal damage have reduced following the identification of those responsible and the action taken to address the issue.

Officers have worked to investigate incidents, gather evidence and support victims and witnesses. High-visibility patrols continue in areas that have previously experienced problems, helping to deter further offending and provide reassurance to residents.

Local officers will continue to monitor reports, identify any emerging issues and take appropriate action where necessary. This ongoing work aims to maintain the reduction in criminal damage and help keep the area safe for residents and businesses.
