Penshurst, Fordcombe and Chiddingstone

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Road safety issues.

Issued 03 February 2026

The local officer has attended the area around Fordcombe Primary School to speak with parents collecting their children. This followed reports of speeding and vehicles stopping in no‑waiting zones. Officers provided light‑touch advice and guidance to help improve safety at school pick‑up times.

Discussions are ongoing with the Road Safety team about arranging a visit to the area and the possible introduction of a Kids’ Court initiative.

The local officer is also working with colleagues across the Neighbourhood Team to plan dedicated days of action for speed checks. Reports and calls from residents continue to be reviewed to identify the locations most affected by road‑safety concerns and ensure future activity is targeted where it is needed most.

Actioned 30 March 2026

Fly tipping.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers are working closely with environmental agencies to tackle fly‑tipping and identify those responsible. In some cases, incidents are linked to rogue traders.

Investigations focus on where they are operating, who they are targeting, and where waste has been dumped.

If you see fly‑tipping taking place, please report it to the police so action can be taken.
