Swanley St Mary's

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Drug use.

Issued 03 February 2026

Beat officers continue to take a proactive approach to tackling drug‑related crime. This includes carrying out regular patrols in areas where concerns have been reported and using stop and search powers where appropriate to help disrupt drug supply.

Local officers also work closely with partner agencies to support vulnerable people affected by drug exploitation, making sure safeguarding measures are in place when needed.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any drug‑related concerns. This information helps police target resources effectively and support ongoing enforcement activity.

Nuisance vehicles.

Issued 03 February 2026

Nuisance vehicles in this and nearby wards remain a priority. By their nature, these issues can be difficult to target directly, but the Neighbourhood Task Force continues to focus on identifying those responsible.

Officers from the Community Safety Unit recently seized a motorbike after the rider was given a Section 59 warning. A Section 59 warning is used when a vehicle is driven in a way that causes, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance. If the same behaviour happens again within 12 months, the vehicle can be seized.

Work is ongoing to identify riders and the addresses where motorcycles are being stored, so officers can tackle the source of the problem.

We encourage the public to report all nuisance vehicle activity. Information from residents helps us target patrols, identify those involved, and support ongoing enforcement action.

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Issued 03 February 2026

The Swanley Centre and surrounding area have recently seen an increase in antisocial behaviour. The local officer is working closely with partner agencies and local businesses to address these concerns. Several individuals involved have already been identified, and further work is ongoing with the Child‑Centred Policing Team, which works closely with local schools to help identify and support others involved.

Officers are using appropriate antisocial behaviour powers to deal with incidents, while partner agencies are providing diversionary support to young people to help prevent further issues.

Police visibility will be increased at key times to deter antisocial behaviour and provide reassurance to the community. We encourage all incidents of antisocial behaviour to be reported, as each report helps build a clearer picture of emerging issues, identify those involved, and ensure police resources are used effectively.
