Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Criminal damage/catapults.

Issued 03 February 2026

Local beat officers are carrying out proactive patrols in and around Swanley Park to help identify people and vehicles linked to catapult use or poaching‑related activity.

Kent Police works closely with specialist wildlife officers and partner agencies to investigate and prevent these offences, helping to protect local wildlife and the surrounding countryside.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspected use of catapults or poaching activity. During the summer months, officers will carry out targeted activity to address catapult use, and enforcement action will be taken where offences are identified.

Vehicle crime.

Issued 03 February 2026

Vehicle crime remains an issue in this area and nearby locations, with offenders targeting both vehicles and items left inside them.

Beat officers have increased patrols in areas identified as hotspots and are working closely with intelligence teams and neighbouring police forces to help identify those responsible.

Officers continue to provide crime‑prevention advice to residents and encourage people to report any suspicious activity promptly. This helps ensure police resources are used where they are needed most.

Advice has also been shared through My Community Voice, the police messaging service, following reports of attempted thefts from vehicles and the theft of catalytic converters.

Nuisance vehicles/e-scooters.

Issued 03 February 2026

Nuisance vehicles in this and surrounding wards remain a priority. By their nature, these issues can be difficult to target directly, but the Neighbourhood Task Force continues to focus on identifying those responsible.

Officers from the Community Safety Unit recently seized a motorbike after the rider was issued with a Section 59 warning. Work is ongoing to identify people riding these bikes and to establish where the motorcycles are being stored, so officers can address the source of the problem.

We encourage the public to report all nuisance vehicle activity. Information from residents helps police target resources effectively and supports ongoing enforcement action.
