Tovil

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Issued 14 April 2026

Officers are carrying out regular patrols and working closely with residents and businesses to prevent antisocial behaviour and encourage reporting.

Where individuals are identified, officers take a preventative approach. This includes Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (voluntary agreements with young people and their parents to stop antisocial behaviour), educational workbooks and referrals to diversionary activities delivered by the Child Centred Policing Team.

Catapults.

Issued 14 April 2026

We are aware of concerns about groups of young people misusing catapults, which can cause damage to property and harm to wildlife.

Officers are carrying out patrols in affected areas and working with local schools to raise awareness. Where appropriate, young people found with catapults are given educational guidance to help prevent further incidents.

Wildlife crime issues.

Issued 14 April 2026

We are aware of wildlife crime linked to the misuse of catapults, including incidents where animals and birds have been harmed.

Officers patrol open spaces and, where appropriate, use stop and search powers (a legal power to search people for items linked to unlawful activity). Catapults can be seized and destroyed if used unlawfully.

We are also working with schools to raise awareness and provide education to help prevent further incidents.
