Grove Green & Vinters Park

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Cycle theft.

Issued 03 February 2026

To help tackle cycle theft, we have been raising awareness by sharing bike theft prevention advice through My Community Voice, our two‑way communication service.

We also held a successful bike‑marking event at Tesco in Grove Green, where more than 70 bicycles were marked. Further bike‑marking events are planned throughout the year to help protect bikes and deter theft.

Actioned 30 March 2026

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers are carrying out increased foot patrols in identified hotspot areas, including Bargrove Road, Vinters Valley Nature Reserve and Vinters Park. We are working closely with Maidstone Borough Council, local residents and businesses to help prevent nuisance behaviour and encourage reporting, so those involved can be identified.

Where young people are found to be causing ongoing issues, officers take appropriate action. This can include Acceptable Behaviour Agreements, which are voluntary agreements made with a child and their parents to help stop problem behaviour. Officers may also use educational workbooks and refer young people to diversionary courses run by the Child‑Centred Policing Team to support positive behaviour change.

Road safety issues.

Issued 03 February 2026

We continue to listen to concerns raised by local residents about road safety. Information provided has led to vehicles being seized for having no valid tax or insurance.

High‑visibility patrols have also taken place around Grovewood Drive South to help identify and deter any road‑related issues.
