Officers continue to respond to concerns about the misuse of catapults across the area. Reports suggest that many incidents involve young people carrying or using catapults in public places.

In response, officers carry out targeted patrols in locations where concerns have been raised and take action where appropriate. This may include the use of stop and search powers. A stop and search is a police power that allows officers to search a person for items such as weapons, illegal drugs or stolen property when certain legal conditions are met. Through ongoing patrols, engagement and enforcement activity, officers aim to reduce antisocial behaviour, prevent harm to people and wildlife, and address concerns raised by the community.
