High Street

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Report crime

Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.

If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

  • in an emergency, call 999

  • call 101 for non-emergency enquiries

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Issued 03 February 2026

We are working with partner agencies to identify those responsible for antisocial behaviour in the area.

Officers are using a range of legal powers, including enforcing a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). A PSPO is a legal order that sets rules for how a public area can be used and allows action to be taken against behaviour that has a negative impact on the community.

This joint approach helps create a safer environment for everyone who lives in, works in, or visits the area.

Actioned 30 March 2026

E-Scooters/e-bikes.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers have continued with a zero tolerance approach to the use of e-scooters and illegal e-bikes in the Town Centre area. So far this year there have been 9 e-scooters seized and 1 e-bike. Police are working with fast food providers, staff are being monitored and interventions made to ensure that deliveries are completed safely and lawfully.

Actioned 30 March 2026

Alcohol.

Issued 03 February 2026

We are taking a zero‑tolerance approach to street drinking and related antisocial behaviour. Officers are using Community Protection Warnings. These are formal written warnings that tell someone to stop behaviour that is having a negative impact on the community. If the behaviour continues, further action can be taken.

High‑visibility policing is in place during both the daytime and evening economy to provide reassurance and deter issues. This work is supported by One Maidstone Street Ambassadors, who help report concerns and support a safer town centre.
