St Mary's Island
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive
Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.
Report crime
Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.
If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

Local Priority Issues
| Priority | Action taken |

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance. Issued 25 November 2025 |
We have taken strong action to deal with these issues. More than five Public Spaces Protection Orders have been issued for street drinking. We have also given 19 Community Protection Warnings, which led to four Community Protection Notices being issued. A Community Protection Notice is a legal notice given to someone whose behaviour is causing problems for others. It requires them to stop the behaviour or take certain steps to prevent it happening again. In addition, seven people have been charged in court for antisocial behaviour linked to the high street. Actioned 21 January 2026 |

Speeding and road safety issue (parking). Issued 25 November 2025 |
We have been carrying out high visibility patrols so people can clearly see officers in the area. This helps us deal with problems quickly and makes the community feel safer. We are also working closely with Medway Council to have more parking wardens in the area. This means better enforcement and helps keep the roads and streets safe for everyone. E-scooters. Issued 25 November 2025 |
We have been carrying out high‑visibility patrols so the community can see officers out and about. This helps us deal with problems quickly and makes the area safer. We have also been seizing illegal e‑scooters. Using CCTV, we identify the people involved and take action. When needed, we issue Section 59 notices and deal with any other offences we find. Actioned 21 January 2026 |
