Rainham South West

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Road safety issues.

Issued 03 February 2026

We have been carrying out speed checks in the area, with some drivers issued with traffic offence reports. Officers are also speaking with local residents about setting up a Community Speed Watch group, and this work is ongoing. The team continues to patrol the area in high‑visibility uniform.

We are targeting antisocial behaviour and nuisance motorbikes by patrolling problem areas and working with local businesses, schools and the Child‑Centred Policing Team. Where needed, officers speak with parents and take action. One rider has been given a Section 59 warning, and work continues to identify off‑road motorbike riders across Rainham and Parkwood.

A Section 59 warning is used when a vehicle is driven in a way that causes alarm, distress or annoyance. If the behaviour continues, the vehicle can be seized.

We are also carrying out high‑visibility patrols to tackle the illegal use of e‑scooters. Officers are working with the community to identify where scooters are being kept and who owns them, with Section 59 warnings issued where necessary.
