Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Fly tipping.

Issued 15 April 2026

Police, the Environment Agency and the local council have been working together to address concerns about fly-tipping in the area. Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste and can have a harmful impact on local communities and the environment. As a result of this partnership work, action has been taken to remove fly-tipped waste and enforcement notices have been issued to people identified as being responsible. While progress has been made, fly-tipping remains an ongoing issue and the council continues to monitor the situation. Police and partner agencies will continue to work together to identify offenders, take appropriate action and help keep the area clean and safe for local residents.

E-scooters and e-bikes.

Issued 15 April 2026

A targeted operation has been carried out to address concerns about nuisance vehicles, including illegal e-scooters, off-road bikes and antisocial riding. As part of this work, officers have increased high-visibility patrols in parks, open spaces and other locations where concerns have been raised. These patrols help to deter offending, provide reassurance to local residents and gather information about those involved. Officers are also working closely with the community to identify offenders and take appropriate action.

Enforcement activity has resulted in a number of Traffic Offence Reports (TOR) being issued for offences such as driving without insurance. A TOR is a formal record created by police when someone is suspected of committing a road traffic offence and may result in a fixed penalty notice, a driver education course or a court appearance. Officers have also used Section 59 powers where appropriate. A Section 59 warning can be issued when a vehicle is being used in a way that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public. If the same driver or vehicle is involved in further antisocial use within 12 months, police have the power to seize the vehicle. Officers will continue to carry out patrols and enforcement activity to improve safety and reduce antisocial vehicle use within the community.

Drug use.

Issued 15 April 2026

Over the past month, officers have used information to take action against drug supply. This has included searching properties linked to drug dealing and disrupting illegal activity.

High‑visibility patrols have also taken place in areas known for drug use, with stop and search powers (a legal power to search people for items such as drugs) used where appropriate. Drugs have been seized and enforcement action taken, including arrests and Community Resolutions (a way of dealing with offences outside court).

We continue to work with local partners, including the council and housing providers, to focus on areas most affected and reduce drug-related harm.
