Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Drug dealing.

Issued 03 February 2026

Over the last month, officers have used intelligence‑led policing to target drug supply in local communities. This has helped us use our search powers to check properties linked to drug dealing and disrupt the supply of illegal drugs.

Officers have also been carrying out regular patrols in areas known for recreational drug use. This has led to many stop‑searches, several arrests, and a number of positive results, including Community Resolutions. A Community Resolution is a quick and informal way of dealing with lower‑level crime, where the person involved accepts responsibility and agrees to take steps to put things right.

We continue to work closely with local partners, including the council, housing providers and community groups. This joint approach helps us focus on the areas most affected by drug use and the antisocial behaviour that can come with it.

E-scooters/e-bikes.

Issued 03 February 2026

Medway officers have taken strong action to deal with nuisance vehicles across the area. We recently carried out a dedicated operation focusing on illegal e‑scooters, off‑road bikes and people causing harm or disruption in our neighbourhoods.

Thanks to the hard work of Medway beat officers and the Community Safety Unit, a total of 30 vehicles were seized in just two days.

We know nuisance vehicles are a major concern for many residents, so officers continue to carry out regular high‑visibility patrols. These patrols help deter dangerous riding and reduce antisocial behaviour, especially in parks, green spaces and other areas used by families.
