Addressing nuisance bikes and the illegal use of off-road vehicles remains a priority for local officers. Targeted patrols and enforcement activity have been carried out in response to concerns raised by residents, resulting in a number of off-road motorcycles being seized and removed from use. Officers have used Section 59 powers, which can be used when a vehicle is being driven in a way that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to others. A Section 59 warning may be issued initially, and continued misuse can lead to the vehicle being seized.

During this activity, officers also recovered a stolen motorcycle and made arrests in connection with the incident. Officers will continue to carry out patrols and enforcement activity to reduce antisocial behaviour, tackle illegal vehicle use and improve safety for local communities.

Youth involved in disruptive activities.

Officers continue to work with young people involved in disruptive or antisocial behaviour to address concerns at an early stage and help prevent further incidents. This work is supported through close partnership working with schools, local authorities and other organisations to ensure appropriate support and interventions are available where needed. In some cases, young people may be offered an Acceptable Behaviour Agreement, which is a voluntary agreement between the young person, their family and partner agencies that sets out clear expectations for future behaviour and encourages positive choices. Through ongoing engagement, early intervention and support, officers and partner organisations aim to reduce antisocial behaviour, prevent repeat incidents and improve the quality of life for local residents.

Burglaries.

Officers have carried out regular targeted patrols at the times and in the locations most affected by burglary. These proactive patrols help deter offenders, provide reassurance to local residents and enable officers to respond quickly to suspicious activity. This focused approach has contributed to a reduction in reported burglaries in the area. Officers will continue to monitor local crime trends and direct patrols to where they can have the greatest impact on preventing crime, protecting property and keeping communities safe.
