Our officers will:

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Off road bikes.

Issued 21 April 2026

Officers continue to take robust action against the illegal use of off-road bikes in the area. A number of vehicles have been seized and fixed penalty notices issued where offences have been identified. Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) have also been issued to repeat offenders as a preventative measure to deter further antisocial behaviour.

A CPW is a formal warning used to address behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community. Where offenders continue to use vehicles unlawfully, further enforcement action may be taken. Seized off-road bikes linked to illegal or persistent offending may be destroyed. Officers will continue to carry out targeted patrols and enforcement activity to reduce nuisance vehicle use and improve community safety.

Youth involved in disruptive activities.

Issued 21 April 2026

Regular patrols are being carried out in areas where nuisance youth activity has been reported, helping officers identify those responsible and provide reassurance to local residents. Where young people are identified as being involved in antisocial behaviour, Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs) may be used. An ABA is a voluntary agreement between a young person, their parents or guardians and the police that sets out expected standards of behaviour and aims to prevent further incidents.

Officers carry out follow-up visits to monitor compliance with these agreements and provide support where needed. This early intervention approach helps address behaviour at an early stage, reduce repeat offending and improve the quality of life for the wider community.

Burglaries.

Issued 21 April 2026

We have been carrying out regular patrols in areas affected by recent burglary offences, particularly during the evenings and overnight when the risk of offending can be higher. These targeted patrols provide reassurance to residents, help deter criminal activity and support ongoing crime prevention efforts.

Encouragingly, the number of reported burglaries has reduced significantly over the past few months. Officers will continue to patrol identified hotspot areas, work with local communities and take proactive action to help prevent further offences and keep residents safe.
