Concerns around the misuse of catapults remain a local priority, particularly during school holidays when reports have historically increased.

To address this, officers have continued to carry out regular high-visibility patrols in Vigo and surrounding areas where incidents have previously been reported. These patrols help deter antisocial behaviour, provide reassurance to residents, and allow officers to engage with young people and the wider community.

Nuisance vehicles (e-scooters and motorbikes).

Tackling the antisocial use of e-scooters, e-bikes and motorbikes remains a focus.

In August, officers carried out a targeted operation in Vigo aimed at addressing nuisance vehicle use and related antisocial behaviour. During the operation, a number of enforcement actions were taken, including the issuing of fines under Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) and the seizure of several e-bikes and e-scooters being used unlawfully.

The success of this operation means further enforcement activity is planned, and officers will continue to take action against those using vehicles irresponsibly or illegally.

Burglaries and theft related offences.

Preventing burglary and theft remains a priority for local officers, especially during the autumn and winter months. Officers continue to carry out regular patrols and engage with residents to provide reassurance and deter criminal activity. Residents are encouraged to help protect their homes, outbuildings and vehicles by keeping them secure and reporting any suspicious activity. Working together with the community helps reduce opportunities for crime and keep local neighbourhoods safe.
