Nethercourt

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Drug taking.

Issued 03 February 2026

PC Howard has been working proactively to address this by carrying out welfare checks on vulnerable individuals who may be at risk of exploitation by drug users or dealers.

He has also been conducting proactive patrols and stop and searches to identify drug users, remove drugs from circulation and gather intelligence. This issue affects the wider Thanet district, and as part of ongoing enforcement work, several recent arrests have been made for drug‑dealing offences. Each arrest removes offenders from the streets and generates further intelligence, helping to disrupt drug‑supply lines.

Please continue to tell PC Howard what matters to you by attending his ward surgeries or contacting him on My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for ‘My Community Voice’ online.

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Issued 03 February 2026

Antisocial behaviour (ASB) has been identified as a ward priority for Nethercourt, and PC Howard is actively addressing it. Recent concerns have centred on the St Lawrence area, with reports of drug taking and antisocial behaviour.

Local officers are working closely with partner agencies, including Thanet District Council and local homeless support services, to understand the causes of these issues and put effective solutions in place.

Increased patrols have been deployed in problem areas to deter offending, provide reassurance and take firm action against individuals involved in ASB.

Please continue to tell PC Howard what matters to you, either by attending his ward surgeries or by contacting him on My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for ‘My Community Voice’ online.

E-scooters/e-bikes.

Issued 03 February 2026

The use of privately owned e‑scooters and certain types of e‑bikes on public roads remains illegal. These vehicles continue to be seized across Thanet, and riders may face prosecution for associated driving offences.

Because they are often linked to antisocial behaviour, this has become a priority for the Nethercourt ward. PC Howard has been stopping riders when seen and taking firm enforcement action to deter illegal use.

The Child‑Centred Policing Team is also visiting schools across Thanet to deliver educational sessions explaining the legal consequences of e‑scooter use and encouraging young people not to obtain or ride them illegally.

Please continue to tell PC Howard what matters to you, either by attending his ward surgeries or by contacting him on My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for “My Community Voice” online.
