Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance. Issued 03 November 2025 |
Antisocial behaviour has been an issue in Newington. We’ve started tackling this by running surveys to understand residents’ views and acting on the information we get. Known offenders have been given agreements about acceptable behaviour, and we’re doing engagement work where needed. PC Howard is working closely with housing, Thanet Council and other agencies to provide support in different ways. Actioned 15 December 2025 |

E-scooters. Issued 03 November 2025 |
For the past three months, we’ve been taking action against the illegal use of e-scooters in Ramsgate. It’s against the law to ride e-scooters on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes. They can only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission. Kent is not part of any government rental trial, so all e-scooters used in public spaces are illegal. Drugs. Issued 03 November 2025 |
PC Howard and other officers have been tackling drug-related crime, including drug driving. Recently, offenders have been arrested for drug possession and drug driving. Officers have carried out regular stop-and-searches under the Misuse of Drugs Act where there were legal grounds, taking positive action at every stage. Actioned 15 December 2025 |
