Thanet Villages

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Fly tipping.

Issued 03 February 2026

PC Crush knows how important it is to keep the countryside and green spaces in the Thanet Villages clean and safe. Fly‑tipping, when rubbish is dumped where it shouldn’t be, is usually handled by the local council, but police officers will always step in if they witness a crime and will support partner agencies when needed.

Recently, PC Crush has been checking rural areas where fly‑tipping often occurs. Some rubbish has already been cleared, including small metal canisters that are commonly linked to littering. These areas will now receive extra patrols to help keep them safe and tidy.

A Community Protection Warning (CPW) is also being issued to someone believed to be causing litter problems and other nuisance behaviour. A CPW is a formal warning telling someone that their behaviour must stop.

Kent Police will continue working with Thanet District Council to ensure the villages remain clean, safe and well‑looked‑after for everyone.

Please keep telling PC Crush about anything that concerns you by attending his ward surgeries or contacting him through My Community Voice. If you do not have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for ‘My Community Voice’ online.

Dog fouling.

Issued 03 February 2026

Dog mess continues to be a problem in this area, and it is mainly dealt with by Thanet District Council’s enforcement team. However, PC Crush is always ready to support the council when needed, this can include helping with investigations or assisting when action needs to be taken against people who do not clean up after their dogs.

Both the police and the council will continue working together to tackle this issue and help keep the area clean, safe and pleasant for everyone.

Please keep telling PC Crush about anything that concerns you by attending his ward surgeries or contacting him through My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for ‘My Community Voice’ online.

E-scooters/e-bikes.

Issued 03 February 2026

Using privately owned e‑scooters and some types of e‑bikes on public roads is still illegal. Because of this, these vehicles are regularly seized by police across Thanet, and riders can face prosecution for breaking driving laws.

Some people have also been using e‑scooters in antisocial ways, which has made this a key priority for the Thanet Villages. PC Crush and the team will continue taking firm action to stop illegal riding and help keep everyone safe.

Schools officers from the Child‑Centred Policing Team have also been visiting local schools to teach children about the dangers of e‑scooters and explain the legal consequences of using them in the wrong places.

All of this work helps keep our roads and footpaths safe, calm and enjoyable for the whole community.

Please keep telling PC Crush about anything that concerns you by attending his ward surgeries or contacting him on My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for ‘My Community Voice’ online.
