Salmestone

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Issued 03 February 2026

PC Godden has been out in the area, carrying out regular patrols, both on foot and in the police car, to keep a close eye on what’s happening. His presence helps reassure the community and allows him to spot and deal with problems early.

During these patrols, he has been spending time speaking with groups of young people. He offers helpful advice about positive behaviour and explains why it matters. By engaging with them early, he is helping prevent small issues from becoming bigger ones and encouraging safer, more considerate choices.

Please keep telling PC Godden about anything that concerns you, either by attending his ward surgeries or by contacting him on My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for “My Community Voice” online.

Road safety.

Issued 03 February 2026

PC Godden has been working hard to help keep Tivoli Park Road safe. He has carried out speed checks and regularly patrols the area to remind drivers to slow down. During these checks, he has stopped several drivers and spoken with them about road safety. His aim is to help people understand why careful driving is so important and to encourage everyone to keep the roads safe for all.

Please continue to tell PC Godden about anything that concerns you, either by attending his ward surgeries or by contacting him on My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching for “My Community Voice” online.

E-scooters/e-bikes.

Issued 03 February 2026

PC Godden has been very active in tackling the unsafe use of e‑scooters in the area. He has taken part in several dedicated ‘days of action’, where officers focus on stopping people riding e‑scooters in ways that could put others at risk. Thanks to this focused work, 11 e‑scooters have already been seized this year. Every seizure helps make the streets safer for everyone, whether they are walking, cycling or driving.

PC Godden’s efforts send a clear message: e‑scooters must be used safely and responsibly, and the police will continue working hard to protect the community.

Please keep telling PC Godden about anything that concerns you, either by attending his ward surgeries or by contacting him through My Community Voice. If you don’t have an account, you can choose to sign up by searching ‘My Community Voice’ online.
