Garlinge
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive
Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.
Report crime
Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.
If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

Local Priority Issues

Highway obstructions. Issued 03 February 2026 |
PC Vaz understands that highway obstructions continue to be a concern for residents. He actively monitors every report passed to him and considers the best way to resolve each issue. This is not a problem that can be solved by police alone, so PC Vaz works closely with local councils to help address these concerns. Actioned 17 March 2026 |

Drug taking. Issued 03 February 2026 |
PC Vaz knows that drug use can cause problems for the whole community, and he is working hard to respond to every report made to him. He speaks with residents to understand what is happening and identify the areas causing the most concern. Using the information reported to him, along with what he sees during his patrols, he carries out stop and searches where justified, and makes arrests when needed. This work helps keep the area safer and reduces the harm that drugs can cause. Actioned 17 March 2026 |

Dog fouling. Issued 03 February 2026 |
Dog fouling continues to be a concern for many people in Garlinge, and PC Vaz understands why. He has been patrolling the areas residents have highlighted, speaking with dog owners about keeping the neighbourhood clean. PC Vaz is also working with Thanet District Council, the lead agency for this issue, so they can take action against people who do not pick up after their dogs. By working together, they can make sure the streets remain safe and pleasant for everyone. Actioned 17 March 2026 |
