Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Road safety issues.

Issued 16 April 2026

Road safety is a key concern for residents, and PC Vaz takes these worries seriously.

In response to feedback, he has worked with the Community Speed Watch team to identify problem locations and gather local insight. Community Speed Watch is a scheme where trained volunteers support police by monitoring speeding vehicles and raising awareness.

Targeted speed checks have also been carried out. On this occasion, no offences were identified, but a visible police presence helps encourage safer driving and reassure the community.

This ongoing work focuses on prevention, engagement and maintaining safe driving standards. Residents are encouraged to continue sharing concerns through local ward surgeries or My Community Voice (an online two-way messaging service used to report issues and receive updates).

E-scooters/e-bikes.

Issued 16 April 2026

E‑bikes and e‑scooters are a key concern for many residents.

Officers are carrying out checks across Thanet to tackle illegal and unsafe use. This includes stopping riders, explaining the law and taking action where offences are identified.

Information has also been shared with the public about the risks and rules around these vehicles, helping people understand how to use them safely and legally.

This approach combines education, engagement and enforcement to improve safety for all road users and those in public spaces.

Actioned 30 June 2026

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Issued 16 April 2026

Antisocial behaviour (ASB) can have a serious impact on the wider community, and officers are taking action where concerns are raised.

Following recent reports, officers attended an address linked to ongoing issues as part of a joint‑agency approach. This means police worked alongside partner organisations to address the problem and support those affected. The situation will continue to be monitored and further action taken if needed.

Officers also provide regular updates to keep residents informed about ASB and the steps being taken to reduce it and improve community safety.
