Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Road safety issues.

Issued 13 April 2026

Road safety concerns have been addressed through regular patrols and targeted engagement in identified problem areas, particularly around local schools. Officers have been present at key times to address unsafe parking and driving behaviour, with a number of drivers stopped and spoken to about safer driving practices.

Ongoing work with schools, residents and partner agencies aims to improve behaviour during school drop-off and pick-up times, helping to make routes safer for children, parents and other road users. Further activity is planned at additional locations as concerns are identified.

Officers will continue to monitor issues, carry out patrols and take appropriate action where necessary to improve road safety and provide reassurance to the community.

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Issued 13 April 2026

Concerns about antisocial behaviour, particularly involving groups of young people, have been addressed through regular patrols in hotspot locations, including King George V Playing Fields and Northwood Drive. Officers have also continued to engage with local residents to gather information, provide reassurance and identify any emerging concerns.

Partnership working remains a key part of this approach, with support from the Child-Centred Policing Team and Town Centre Officers to help prevent further incidents and engage positively with young people. Patrols will also be extended to include Gerrard’s Drive and Shurland Avenue in response to community feedback.

Residents are encouraged to continue reporting incidents of antisocial behaviour, as information from the community helps officers target patrols effectively and take appropriate action where needed.

Actioned 06 July 2026

E-bikes/e-scooters.

Issued 13 April 2026

Concerns about nuisance e-scooter and e-bike use are being addressed through increased engagement with local residents, businesses and partner agencies. This has helped identify hotspot locations and gather valuable information about where these vehicles are being used and stored.

Officers have also worked with local secondary schools and their senior leadership teams to promote safe and responsible behaviour and raise awareness of the laws relating to e-scooters and e-bikes.

Information provided by the community continues to support targeted enforcement activity, and further operations are planned to address ongoing concerns, reduce antisocial behaviour and improve public safety.
