The Meads

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Highway obstructions.

Issued 13 April 2026

Officers have carried out targeted patrols in areas where concerns about obstructive parking have been raised, including Vellum Drive. Work has also taken place with the local school to better understand the factors contributing to the issue and identify opportunities for improvement.

Community messages have been shared to raise awareness of the impact that inconsiderate parking can have on road safety and access for residents, pedestrians and emergency services. Officers will continue to monitor the area, engage with drivers where appropriate and respond to any repeat concerns to help keep roads safe and accessible for everyone.

Drug taking.

Issued 13 April 2026

In response to concerns about drug use and related activity, officers have carried out proactive patrols and area searches, including within the Community Woodland, to identify signs of drug-related offending and gather information about locations of concern.

Working with partner agencies, officers continue to target drug-related activity through intelligence-led patrols and enforcement. As part of this ongoing work, a local individual was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs following police enquiries. Controlled drugs were subsequently located and seized, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Officers will continue to work proactively to disrupt drug-related offending, act on information provided by residents and take enforcement action where offences are identified to help keep the community safe.

Actioned 06 July 2026

Nuisance motorcycles.

Issued 13 April 2026

Officers continue to carry out proactive patrols in areas affected by nuisance motorcycle activity, including Knightsfield Road, Raite Green and Arch Park. These targeted patrols have helped reduce reports in some locations by providing a visible police presence and disrupting offending behaviour.

Ongoing patrols are supported by information provided by residents and community messaging, which helps officers identify those responsible and respond to emerging issues. We will continue to patrol hotspot areas, act on information received from the public and take appropriate enforcement action to deter nuisance motorcycle use and improve community safety.
