Officers have carried out targeted patrols and made enquiries in response to concerns raised by the community regarding the use of catapults. We have investigated all reports received, engaged with local residents, and undertaken searches of areas where incidents were alleged to have occurred. Encouragingly, reports of this nature have reduced significantly over recent months, and no ongoing issues have been identified. We will continue to monitor the situation and maintain patrols to provide reassurance and respond promptly to any further concerns raised by the community.

Road safety.

Working alongside the DVLA, officers recently took part in a joint operation focused on vehicle compliance and keeping our roads safe. The operation resulted in multiple vehicles being seized or subject to enforcement action, helping to remove unsafe and non-compliant vehicles from the road.

We have also received concerns regarding speeding on Queenborough Road. These concerns were discussed with the local council, which has previously conducted speed surveys in the area. The results showed that vehicle speeds were generally lower than residents had perceived, providing reassurance that speeding is not currently as significant an issue as first thought. We will continue to monitor any reports and work with partners to address concerns where necessary.

E-bikes/e-scooters.

Officers have responded to reports through patrols, engagement and enforcement activity where opportunities have arisen. While some incidents have been challenging to identify due to limited descriptions or a lack of CCTV, proactive work continues to address the issue.

Positive action has been taken against several vehicles linked to offending, including vehicles used in crime and those involved in road traffic incidents. Officers also seized an off-road style electric bike from an individual known to frequent the area. These actions demonstrate our ongoing commitment to tackling nuisance vehicles and keeping the community safe.
