Homewood

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Actioned 21 July 2026

Road safety issues.

Issued 13 April 2026

We have worked with the local Speedwatch Coordinator to review speed data from roads identified as areas of concern. Following this review, suitable locations for enforcement activity have been identified and speed checks are now taking place to address concerns raised by residents.

Officers will continue to carry out targeted patrols and speed enforcement activity, while working with local communities and partner agencies to improve road safety, encourage responsible driving and address issues reported by the public.

Actioned 06 July 2026

E-bikes/e-scooters.

Issued 13 April 2026

Working closely with Swale Borough Council CCTV operators, officers have successfully identified and tracked nuisance bikes travelling through the area, leading to two vehicles being stopped and seized. Additional e-scooters have also been seized following enforcement activity.

Following CCTV enquiries, a rider seen using a bike dangerously in Albany Park has been identified and will be issued with a Section 59 warning. A Section 59 warning is a legal warning that can be issued when a vehicle is used in a manner that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to others. If the warning is breached within 12 months, the vehicle can be seized by police.

Officers will continue to work with partner agencies, carry out targeted patrols and take enforcement action against those using e-scooters and e-bikes unlawfully, helping to improve safety and reduce antisocial behaviour within the community.

Actioned 06 July 2026

Dog fouling.

Issued 13 April 2026

We have worked closely with the local council to identify hotspot locations where dog fouling has been reported most frequently. Information from residents has helped us focus attention on the areas of greatest concern and support the council's efforts to address the issue.

Community messages have been shared to raise awareness and provide guidance on how to report incidents of dog fouling. Reporting helps build a clearer picture of problem areas and supports any appropriate action by the local authority. We will continue to work with partner agencies to promote responsible dog ownership and help keep public spaces clean and safe for everyone.
