Chalkwell

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Nuisance motorcycles.

Issued 13 April 2026

Officers have supported enforcement activity through proactive patrols and close partnership working, resulting in a number of nuisance motorcycles being identified and seized. These patrols help target hotspot locations, deter offending and improve safety for residents and visitors.

Community messages have also been shared to raise awareness of the dangers associated with riding motorcycles unlawfully in public spaces and to make it clear that vehicles used illegally may be seized. Officers will continue to carry out targeted enforcement activity, act on information provided by the public and take robust action against those responsible for nuisance motorbike activity.

Actioned 06 July 2026

Road safety issues.

Issued 13 April 2026

We have worked with the local Speedwatch Coordinator to review speed data from roads identified as areas of concern. Current data shows that average vehicle speeds are generally within the speed limit; however, suitable locations for enforcement have been identified and speed checks continue to be carried out.

Officers will continue to monitor concerns raised by residents, carry out targeted enforcement activity where appropriate and work with community partners to improve road safety and encourage responsible driving.

Actioned 06 July 2026

E-bikes/e-scooters.

Issued 13 April 2026

Working closely with Swale Borough Council CCTV operators, officers have identified nuisance bikes travelling towards the town centre, leading to successful vehicle stops and seizures. Further e-scooters have also been seized on the High Street for offences relating to illegal use.

Officers will continue to work with partner agencies, carry out targeted patrols and act on information provided by the community to tackle nuisance e-scooter and e-bike use. This ongoing activity helps reduce antisocial behaviour, improve road safety and keep public spaces safe for residents and visitors.
