Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Theft. Issued 21 July 2026	Officers continue to work closely with local businesses to tackle shoplifting and theft. Regular visits are carried out to stores most affected by offending, helping officers identify repeat offenders, recover stolen property and support victims. This joint approach has also led to vehicles linked to shoplifting offences being identified and seized, disrupting criminal activity and helping to reduce the impact on local retailers. Officers will continue to work with businesses and partner organisations to deter offending, support victims and help keep the town centre a safe place to shop and visit. Actioned 30 September 2026
Nuisance vehicles. Issued 21 July 2026	Nuisance vehicles remain a priority within the town centre. Officers have carried out targeted patrols around Morrisons and the Retail Park, working closely with store management to deter organised car meets and associated antisocial behaviour. Positive enforcement action has been taken, resulting in vehicles being seized, Traffic Offence Reports being issued and off-road bikes and e-scooters being dealt with for offences including having no insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and antisocial use. We will continue to carry out proactive patrols and take robust action against those whose driving causes concern within our communities. Actioned 30 September 2026
Alcohol. Issued 21 July 2026	Officers have conducted regular high-visibility patrols within the town centre, focusing on areas affected by street drinking and alcohol-related antisocial behaviour. We have also carried out licensing visits to local premises and worked proactively within the night-time economy to support the safety of residents, businesses and visitors. Positive action has been taken within the PSPO area, including the seizure of alcohol from street drinkers where appropriate, helping to reduce disorder, discourage antisocial behaviour and provide reassurance to the community.
