Borden and Grove Park

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Road safety issues.

Issued 13 April 2026

In response to concerns about speeding and nuisance driving, speed enforcement activity has been carried out on roads identified as problem locations. Several drivers have been stopped and spoken to about their driving behaviour, helping to improve awareness and encourage safer driving.

Work is also underway to recruit volunteers to support the relaunch of Borden Speedwatch. Speedwatch is a community-led scheme where trained volunteers work with police to monitor vehicle speeds and raise awareness of road safety concerns.

In addition, Swale Borough Council CCTV is being used to help identify those involved in nuisance bike and quad bike activity. Recent partnership working led to a nuisance bike being tracked from the Borden area into Sittingbourne, where it was stopped by officers and seized.

Officers will continue to carry out targeted patrols, enforcement activity and partnership working to address road safety concerns and improve safety for all road users.

Fly tipping.

Issued 13 April 2026

Community messages have been shared to encourage residents to report fly-tipping and provide information about repeat problem locations. Information from the public helps officers and partner agencies identify hotspots and target enforcement activity more effectively.

Close partnership working continues between Kent Police and Environmental Enforcement teams, with reports of fly-tipping being shared promptly to support swift investigation and action. This joint approach helps identify offenders, prevent further incidents and protect the local environment. Officers will continue to work with partner agencies and respond to concerns raised by the community.

Wildlife crime.

Issued 13 April 2026

Officers have organised community engagement events, including walk-and-talk sessions, to better understand local concerns and gather information about wildlife crime and related issues. Regular high-visibility patrols are also carried out within the nature reserve following reports of illegal snares and traps.

Where young people are identified carrying or using catapults, officers take a preventative approach by providing education about the impact this behaviour can have on wildlife, property and public safety. Officers continue to work closely with the Rural Task Force and partner agencies to investigate reports, deter offending and protect local wildlife.

We encourage residents to continue reporting any concerns relating to wildlife crime, as information from the community plays an important role in identifying offenders and helping to protect the local environment.
