Road safety issues.

Issued 13 April 2026

Following reports of nuisance driving in Mallard Way and Riddham Dock, targeted enforcement activity has been carried out to address concerns raised by residents. This has included the use of Section 35 dispersal powers, warning letters to registered vehicle keepers and the seizure of a vehicle linked to reported incidents. A Section 35 dispersal notice is a power that allows police to direct individuals to leave an area for a specified period to help prevent antisocial behaviour and disorder.

Proactive speed enforcement has also taken place in known hotspot locations, resulting in more than a dozen motorists being stopped and given advice about their driving behaviour. One vehicle was also seized after being found to be driven without valid insurance.

Officers will continue to carry out patrols and targeted enforcement activity to address road safety concerns, deter nuisance driving and improve safety for all road users.

Actioned 06 July 2026

Fly tipping.

Issued 13 April 2026

Officers continue to work closely with the Environment Agency to tackle fly-tipping and environmental crime. As part of this partnership approach, drone flights have been deployed over suspected illegal waste sites to help gather evidence and support investigations.

Proactive patrols are also carried out at known fly-tipping hotspots, with officers stopping and checking suspicious vehicles where appropriate. This activity helps identify offenders, disrupt illegal waste disposal and protect the local environment.

We will continue to work with partner agencies, carry out targeted patrols and take action where offences are identified to reduce fly-tipping and its impact on local communities.

Actioned 06 July 2026

E-bikes/e-scooters.

Issued 13 April 2026

Regular community drop-in sessions continue to provide opportunities for residents to speak directly with officers and share information about nuisance e-scooter and e-bike use. This engagement helps officers gather valuable intelligence about where these vehicles are being used, stored or linked to antisocial behaviour.

Information provided by the community plays an important role in supporting targeted patrols and enforcement activity, helping officers identify offenders and take appropriate action. We will continue to work with residents and partner agencies to tackle nuisance vehicle use and improve safety within the local area.
