Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Road safety.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers have been taking action across the ward in response to concerns about speeding, unsafe overtaking, poor parking, and motorcycles being used antisocially on our rural roads. With narrow lanes, blind bends and a mix of road users, keeping our villages safe is something we all need to work together on.

Your local officer, has carried out regular high‑visibility mobile patrols. This includes patrols on marked police bicycle, which allows officers to access rural lanes and village areas that are harder to reach by vehicle.

This work has already helped stop nuisance motorcycles being ridden on rural paths, gather rider and vehicle details, submit intelligence, and deter further antisocial riding through proactive enforcement and engagement.

Please call 999 if someone is driving dangerously right now. For non‑urgent concerns, report online at www.kent.police.uk/report or use Live Chat on the Kent Police website. You can also use the online form to contact your local officer, PC 12757 Sophie Bramble.

Drink/drug driving.

Issued 03 February 2026

Drink and drug driving is a concern in our rural villages. Thanks to information from residents, officers have already been able to take action. Officers carry out targeted patrols, roadside checks and visible mobile patrols on marked police bicycles, with support from colleagues and specialist teams when needed.

If you see someone driving under the influence right now, please call 999 with the vehicle details and location. For non‑urgent information, report online at www.kent.police.uk/report, where Live Chat is also available. If you prefer to stay anonymous, you can contact Crimestoppers. Your reports help us stop dangerous drivers and keep our rural communities safe. Thank you for continuing to share what you see.

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Issued 03 February 2026

In the Guston, Kingsdown and St Margaret’s ward, antisocial behaviour concerns often include nuisance behaviour in village hubs, noise issues, minor disorder, alcohol‑related nuisance, and groups of young people gathering in ways that cause worry or disruption. We take these reports seriously. In rural areas, shared spaces are an important part of daily life, and nuisance behaviour can quickly affect how safe and comfortable people feel. Information from residents helps build a clear picture of where issues are happening, allowing officers to carry out targeted patrols, problem‑solving visits and proportionate enforcement where needed. As part of this work, officers carry out visible mobile patrols on marked police bicycles. This allows easier access to rural lanes, footpaths and village areas that are not always reachable by vehicle. This has already helped officers stop nuisance motorcycles being ridden on rural pathways, gather rider and vehicle details, submit intelligence, and deter further antisocial behaviour through enforcement and engagement.

We also work closely with Dover District Council, local businesses and CCTV partners to make sure concerns are dealt with by the most appropriate agency. Some issues, such as noise, neighbour disputes, waste problems and environmental nuisance, are managed by Dover District Council, and reporting these directly helps them take action.

Antisocial behaviour can be reported to Kent Police online www.kent.police.uk/report or by calling 101. In an emergency, always call 999.

Noise, waste and environmental issues can be reported to Dover District Council online www.dover.gov.uk/report.
