Aylesham, Eythorne & Shepherdswell

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Nuisance motorcycles.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers have carried out regular high‑visibility patrols in identified areas at times when problems are most likely to happen. Most reports to police relate to the use of off‑road motorcycles being ridden on public roads.

A visible police presence is often enough to deter riders from using off‑road bikes illegally. Where riders continue to do so, officers make every effort to stop them and deal with any offences identified. These vehicles are regularly seized and, because they are not road legal, it is often very difficult for owners to have them returned before they are destroyed.

Road‑legal motorcycles are also stopped as part of this work. Officers check the condition of the bike to make sure it meets legal requirements, including exhaust noise levels and number plate size.

During a recent patrol in Aylesham, a motorcyclist was issued with a Section 59 Police Reform Act warning. This warning is given when a vehicle is used in a way that causes, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance. If the same behaviour is seen again within 12 months, the motorcycle can be seized.

Road safety issues.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers have been carrying out regular mobile patrols across the local area to address concerns about speeding and vehicle safety. This includes both mobile and static speed checks, with enforcement action taken where necessary.

Officers have also spoken with road users about road safety and why it is important. This has included advice on basic vehicle maintenance and making sure vehicles are safe and legal to use on the road.

We are also using local Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. These cameras help us identify vehicles that may not have the correct paperwork, such as valid tax or insurance.

If you have any concerns you would like to discuss, please contact your local beat officer, PC Bowler, or attend a local drop‑in session.
