Alkham & Capel-le-Ferne

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Road safety issues.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers have been carrying out regular patrols across the local area to address concerns about speeding and vehicle safety. This includes both mobile and static speed checks, with enforcement action taken where needed.

Officers have also spoken with road users about road safety, including why safe speeds and good vehicle maintenance are important. This has involved advice around basic vehicle care and making sure vehicles are safe to use on the road.

We are also using local Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. These cameras help us identify vehicles that may not have the correct paperwork, such as valid tax or insurance.

If you have any concerns you would like to discuss, please contact your local beat officer, PC Bowler, or come along to a local drop‑in session.

Fly tipping.

Issued 03 February 2026

Fly‑tipping is a concern raised by residents in Alkham and Capel‑le‑Ferne, as it affects how clean and welcoming our neighbourhoods feel.

While Dover District Council is responsible for removing dumped waste and taking enforcement action, we work closely with the Council’s Environment Improvement Officers to tackle problem areas. This includes sharing information, identifying those responsible and increasing patrols in locations where reports have increased.

Information from residents has helped us focus our activity on known hotspots and take positive steps to address ongoing issues.

If you see fly‑tipping, please report it directly to Dover District Council using their online reporting service. Providing details and photos, if it is safe to do so, helps the Council respond more quickly. Including a what3words location can also help pinpoint the exact location.

Antisocial behaviour - personal.

Issued 03 February 2026

We have carried out targeted patrols in areas affected by nuisance antisocial behaviour. Officers spoke with those involved to give advice and explain what behaviour is expected in the community.

Officers also spoke with local residents to gather further information and monitored locations where repeat issues have been reported. Relevant intelligence has been submitted to support ongoing problem‑solving work.

Where appropriate, officers have worked with partner agencies, such as housing providers, to address underlying issues and make sure there is a joined‑up response.
