North Deal

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Issued 03 February 2026

Tackling nuisance antisocial behaviour remains a priority in North Deal. We are taking action in response to concerns about groups causing disturbance, alcohol‑related nuisance and disorder.

Officers carry out regular foot and visible patrols, including cycle patrols, in areas where issues are reported. We work closely with Dover District Council, closed‑circuit television operators, local businesses and specialist police teams to identify those involved and focus activity where it will have the most impact.

Where appropriate, we have taken enforcement action. This includes Community Protection Notices for adults, which are formal warnings that require someone to stop behaviour that is causing ongoing problems. For younger people, we use Acceptable Behaviour Agreements, which are voluntary agreements that set clear expectations and help prevent further issues, supported by safeguarding where needed.

Some concerns, such as noise complaints, neighbour disputes, waste and environmental issues, are dealt with by Dover District Council. Reporting these directly helps ensure they are handled quickly by the right team.

By reporting concerns when they happen, you help us target patrols, work effectively with partners and keep North Deal a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

Dog fouling.

Issued 03 February 2026

Dog fouling is a regular concern raised by residents in Deal, as it affects how safe, clean and welcoming our shared spaces feel.

While Dover District Council is responsible for enforcing dog fouling offences, this remains an important local priority. We work closely with the Council’s Dog Warden by sharing information, carrying out joint visits and completing foot patrols in areas where problems are reported. This helps deter offending and gives us opportunities to speak with dog owners about responsible behaviour.

Residents can help by reporting dog fouling directly to Dover District Council, which ensures concerns go straight to the team responsible for enforcement.

By reporting issues, you help both the Council and local policing understand where problems are happening, allowing us to work together to keep Deal’s parks, paths and streets clean for everyone.

Road safety.

Issued 03 February 2026

Road safety is a priority in Deal, and we are taking action in response to concerns raised by residents.

Reports of speeding, dangerous parking and poor driving behaviour, particularly near schools, residential streets and busy routes, have helped officers focus activity in the right areas. This has included targeted enforcement, roadside checks, speed monitoring and high‑visibility patrols. Officers patrol on foot, on marked police cycles and in police vehicles to help deter unsafe behaviour and improve safety for everyone.

Information from the public is vital. Reporting ongoing issues, near misses or problem locations helps us identify patterns quickly and take proportionate action where it is most needed.

By continuing to share concerns, you help us direct resources effectively and keep Deal’s roads safer for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, families and visitors.
