Little Stour & Ashstone

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.

If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

Road safety issues.

Issued 03 February 2026

We have been carrying out regular mobile patrols across the local area to address concerns about speeding and vehicle safety. This includes both mobile and static speed checks, with enforcement action taken where necessary.

Officers have also spoken with road users about road safety and why it is important. This has included advice on basic vehicle maintenance and making sure vehicles are safe and legal to use on the road.

We are also using local Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. These cameras help us identify vehicles that may not have the correct paperwork, such as valid tax or insurance.

If you have any concerns, please contact your local beat officer, PC Bowler, or attend a local drop‑in session.

Actioned 30 March 2026

Dog fouling.

Issued 03 February 2026

Police will continue to share these concerns with Dover District Council and the Dog Warden, who are the lead agencies responsible for dealing with dog fouling.

If you have information about who may be causing this problem, please report your concerns through the Kent Police website.

Actioned 30 March 2026

Highway obstruction.

Issued 03 February 2026

During mobile patrols, officers deal with vehicles that are causing serious obstructions. Where an obstruction poses an immediate danger to other road users, police have the power to remove the vehicle.

In many cases, obstructive or abandoned vehicles are a matter for the local authority. Where appropriate, Dover District Council is notified so they can assess the situation and arrange removal if needed. On some occasions, officers have contacted registered keepers and asked them to move their vehicles to prevent further enforcement action.
Abandoned vehicles should be reported to Dover District Council. Untaxed vehicles should be reported directly to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
