Speeding/parking. Issued 16 April 2026 |
PC Doherty has been working with local residents to improve road safety through a Speedwatch campaign in the area. Speedwatch is a community scheme that allows trained volunteers to work alongside the police to monitor vehicle speeds and help raise awareness of speeding in their neighbourhoods. During the campaign, a number of drivers were spoken to about their speed, driving standards and behaviour on the road. Some drivers received advice and warnings at the time, while others were sent warning letters. The aim of the initiative is to encourage safer driving, reduce speeding and help make local roads safer for residents, pedestrians and other road users. Actioned 30 June 2026 |

Antisocial behaviour - general. Issued 16 April 2026 |
During her patrols, PC Doherty has spoken with drivers whose parking has caused concerns because of where or how their vehicles were parked. She has provided advice and education to encourage safer and more considerate parking, particularly in locations where parked vehicles could create hazards for other road users or pedestrians. Road safety is a key priority, especially around schools where children, parents and carers are using the roads and pavements at busy times of the day. Through regular patrols and engagement with motorists, PC Doherty is helping to raise awareness of the importance of responsible parking and supporting efforts to keep local roads safe for everyone. E-scooters/e-bikes. Issued 16 April 2026 |
PC Doherty has been working with Dartford Borough Council to help enforce a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO). A PSPO is a legal order introduced by a local council to tackle behaviours that have a negative impact on the community, such as nuisance vehicle use, littering, dog fouling or other forms of antisocial behaviour. As part of this work, PC Doherty has helped to stop and seize illegal e-scooters, e-bikes and e-motorbikes where offences have been identified. These vehicles can pose a risk to pedestrians and other road users when used illegally on roads, pavements or in public spaces. Kent Police also took part in a recent national day of action aimed at tackling the unsafe and unlawful use of these vehicles, helping to improve safety, raise awareness of the law and reduce antisocial behaviour linked to their misuse. Actioned 30 June 2026 |
