Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Issued 22 April 2026

Between April and June, there were 10 reports of antisocial behaviour in Northgate, representing a significant decrease compared with previous months. Antisocial behaviour includes actions that cause nuisance, alarm or distress to others, such as disorderly behaviour, vandalism, intimidation or other activities that negatively affect the local community. To address these concerns, local neighbourhood officers have carried out regular high-visibility patrols throughout the area. These patrols aim to deter offending, provide reassurance to residents and respond quickly to issues as they arise. Officers have also been engaging proactively with local residents, businesses and people who regularly use the area to identify emerging concerns, gather information and take appropriate action where necessary. This consistent police presence has helped to disrupt nuisance behaviour, improve community confidence and provide valuable information to support ongoing policing activity.

Nuisance motorcycles.

Issued 22 April 2026

Between April and June, there were 3 reports of nuisance motorbikes in the Northgate area. This issue is not limited to Northgate and also affects neighbouring wards, so officers are working together across the wider area to address concerns. Nuisance motorbike use can cause noise, distress and safety concerns for residents, particularly when bikes are ridden illegally or in inappropriate locations. Local neighbourhood officers continue to carry out patrols, gather information and respond to reports from the community. Targeted operations are also planned during peak periods when this activity is most likely to occur, helping officers to identify those responsible, take appropriate action and reduce the impact on local residents.
