Northgate

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Nuisance motorcycles.

Issued 03 February 2026

Kent Police has received two calls about nuisance motorcycles being ridden from the Northgate ward onto Ministry of Defence land, which sits outside the ward boundary. Although officers were responding to other incidents at the time of these calls, the issue remains a priority and is monitored throughout the day.

With summer approaching, we expect reports of nuisance motorcycles to increase. As this problem affects several neighbouring wards, officers will work together across beat areas to target the locations where these bikes are being used and take proactive enforcement action.

Actioned 17 March 2026

Drug dealing.

Issued 03 February 2026

Since the beginning of the year, your local Beat Team has carried out 26 stop and searches to disrupt drug supply in the Northgate area. This proactive work has led to several separate arrests for drug‑supply offences, along with the seizure of drugs and cash.

Actioned 17 March 2026

E-scooters.

Issued 03 February 2026

Kent Police and your local beat officers have not received any reports specifically about e‑scooters in the Greenhill area. However, officers continue to stop and speak with people riding them.

For riders under 18, Kent Police takes an educational approach. Officers speak with the young person, explain the consequences of using e‑scooters on public roads, and then update their parent or guardian.

If an adult (over 18) is found riding an e‑scooter illegally, the scooter will be seized for destruction, and the rider may be reported for driving offences.
