Fireworks & Anti-Social Behaviour |
||
|
As we head into Firework Night, Kent Police would like to remind residents to celebrate safely and responsibly. We have received reports in previous years of fireworks being used in a manner that causes alarm, distress and nuisance to members of the public. Throwing fireworks, aiming them at people, vehicles or property, and letting them off in streets or public places is dangerous and may constitute a criminal offence. Please remember: • It is illegal to throw or misuse fireworks. • Fireworks should never be aimed at people, animals, vehicles or buildings. • Parents are encouraged to know where their children are and to discuss the dangers and consequences of firework misuse. • Be considerate of vulnerable residents, young children, veterans and pet owners who may be affected by loud noises. Officers are out patrolling your communities and will take positive action where offences or anti-social behaviour are identified. If you experience anti-social behaviour involving fireworks, please report it via 101 or online. Always call 999 in an emergency or if there is an immediate threat to life or property. We hope you have an enjoyable evening. | ||
