Kent Police Equine Volunteers Support Patrols in Mote Park

Today, Kent Police Equine Volunteers, accompanied by their horses Freebie and Tia, joined officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) in Mote Park, Maidstone.

The patrol focused on providing a visible and reassuring presence within the park, conducting general patrols, engaging with members of the public, and identifying any concerns relating to anti-social behaviour (ASB). Volunteers also assisted officers in carrying out checks for any potentially stolen bicycles within the area.

Despite the poor weather conditions, the deployment was a great success, with officers and volunteers maintaining a strong presence throughout the park and engaging positively with visitors. The unique vantage point provided by our equine volunteers allows for increased visibility across large public spaces and helps officers connect with the community in a positive and approachable way.

Freebie and Tia attracted plenty of attention from park users, providing valuable opportunities to speak with local residents, offer crime prevention advice, and discuss any concerns affecting the area.

Kent Police would like to thank our dedicated Equine Volunteers for their continued support and commitment in helping to keep our communities safe.
