Hello all, Apologies for the delay since my last update post, it has been an exceptionally busy period as you’ll see below. This does however mean that I have some hopefully interesting updates for you all about what I have been engaged in on my wards. Following up on information from a local councillor, I have visited a local business who have been affected by a shoplifting and were unsure on whether to make a report to police. I was able to obtain a statement, CCTV and complete other evidence capture. This report is now being progressed by the investigation teams, with a suspect identified.Whilst on mobile patrol in Manston targeting road traffic offenders, I noted a suspicious vehicle which failed to stop when requested. The suspected driver was apprehended after a short pursuit and arrested by me, with a large quantity of Class A drugs seized. A male has been charged and remanded to court for a variety of serious offences, and I will seek to issue an update on the outcome in due course. Whilst on foot patrol with a colleague, we intervened with a group causing anti-social behaviour. The majority were dispersed to protect local businesses and members of the public, and I arrested one male on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. I have been carrying out rural patrols in St Nicholas-at-Wade, Minster, Sarre and Monkton, visiting sites at risk of being targeted by rural offenders.Whilst conducting proactive patrolling, I located another suspicious vehicle which also made off and was pursued. This vehicle was later located abandoned and seized, with a quantity of drugs seized for further investigation. Road safety often features highly amongst residents’ feedback, and I am committed to ensuring these offenders are caught and dealt with.I have re-visited a vulnerable victim who I have previously supported, to conduct a welfare check. During this check, it was apparent that something was not right and through some further investigation my colleague and I located an outstanding offender hiding in the victim’s home address. I arrested this male and am pleased to report that a protective order has now been put in place. My colleague and I made enquiries at an address following concerns. Entry was made and a large cannabis cultivation was discovered inside. This was dismantled by us over the course of two days and the matter passed to CID to continue enquiries. I have conducted three further stop searches of people and vehicles looking for weapons and drugs. One of these arose from a cuckooing check and some cannabis was seized for which I gave an out of court disposal. In addition to the above, since my last update I have attended 22 calls in support of my response colleagues. These included frauds incidents, disturbances, welfare concerns and assaults. I have also continued to liaise with councillors and clerks. Finally, my colleagues and I took part in a charity emergency services football tournament/community day playing sides from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAMB), QEQM, and Kent Fire and Rescue. This was to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, and for two SECAMB colleagues currently undergoing treatment. A good amount of money was raised for these excellent causes and Kent Police came a respectable third out of eight teams. Warm regards,
