🚨 Fraud Prevention Advice 🚨

Hi everyone

Fraud can happen to anyone, and unfortunately criminals are becoming increasingly convincing in the ways they target people. A little caution can go a long way in protecting yourself, your family, and your finances.

🔹 Be suspicious of unexpected contact Fraudsters may contact you by phone, text, email, social media, or even at your door. If someone is asking for personal information, passwords, bank details, or money, take a moment to stop and think.

🔹 Watch out for common scams • Messages claiming to be from your bank, the police, HMRC, or delivery companies asking you to click links or make payments. • Requests to move money to a "safe account" - your bank or the police will never ask you to do this. • Online marketplace scams involving goods that never arrive. • Romance or investment scams where fraudsters build trust before asking for money.

🔹 Protect yourself online • Use strong, unique passwords. • Enable two-factor authentication where possible. • Keep devices and apps updated. • Never share one-time passcodes (OTPs) with anyone.

🔹 Trust your instincts If something feels wrong, it probably is. Don't be pressured into making quick decisions or payments.
