Update from local beat officer

Good evening Residents,

Since the end of the summer holidays, we have seen a big decrease in incidents relating to anti social behaviour. Nevertheless we are still getting lots of reports of youths with catapults and off-road e-bikes. I personally have had a number of e-bikes fail to stop from me which is proving very difficult in catching them. Today both PC BROWN and I had a good result whereby a number of youths were detained and searched under section 1 of the police and criminal evidence act and were found in possession of a catapult and ball bearings. This information came from a member of public and we both responded on blue lights as they had been aiming it at the tree (likely trying to kill wild birds). We also detained a male openly smoking cannabis right in front of us. 

Over the last two weeks I have dealt with a number 999 calls from the public in relation shoplifters, road traffic collisions, domestic abuse and assaults. It has been really busy balancing neighbour policing incidents such as neighbour disputes and ASB while still attending 999 calls in my areas. 

My next police surgery is in East Malling on the 17th of September 2027 at 11:00. It will be at the repair cafe at the Village Hall on New Road. If you have anything you would like to raise, please come along.
