Proactive Visits to in Second-Hand Mobile Phone Shops in Ashford Town Centre

Officers from Ashford Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted proactive visits to second-hand mobile phone shops across Ashford Town Centre on Friday 25 September as part of ongoing efforts to tackle criminality and keep our town centre safe.
 

These visits form part of wider work to prevent the handling and resale of stolen mobile phones and to identify any concerns around goods being offered for sale. By working closely with local businesses, we aim to reduce opportunities for offenders to profit from crime while protecting residents and visitors from purchasing stolen or unsafe items.
 

All of the businesses visited engaged positively with officers and welcomed the opportunity to discuss crime prevention measures. Where appropriate, staff were provided with advice on how to identify potentially stolen devices and encouraged to report any suspicious activity or attempts to sell phones they believe may be linked to crime.
