Dear Resident,
In response to requests from residents, I have organised a tool tagging event in partnership with Kent Police’s Rural Task Force (RTF) which I hope will prove useful. Colleagues from RTF and I will be at The Bell Meadow Pavilion, Bridges Cl, Birchington (St Nicholas-at-Wade) CT7 0PX, on Friday 13th November 2026 between 10:00 and 12:00 hours. We will have a property marking machine which can etch words into plastic, metal or leather, to add unique identifiers to items such as tools, trailers or machinery, as long as the item in question has a flat surface with an area of around 3 x 2 inches. This has recently been put to good use by RTF in the theft of a horsebox where, thanks to the property marking, the recovered trailer was able to be returned to the owner. As your beat officer I regularly patrol rural locations known to be used for ASB, monitor and share information with local farmers and Kent Police’s Rural Task Force about suspicious activities and reported offences, and assist investigative colleagues with their enquiries. I am keen to stress that we take reports of rural crime seriously, including but not limited to: If you have any information on the above or other offences, please do report these to 101, 999, or the Kent Police website.
