Thinking of Travelling After School or College? Know the Risks - UK Border Force Advice |
Hello,
UK Border Force is currently running a national operation to raise awareness among young people about the risks that can be associated with overseas travel and some of the pitfalls they may encounter. Many young people choose to take a gap year before moving on to university, further education, or employment. Travelling abroad can be an exciting opportunity to experience new cultures, meet new people, and gain valuable life experiences. However, it's important to be aware that not everyone you meet will have good intentions. While many people are familiar with the term exploitation, they may not realise the different forms it can take or how easily an apparently innocent interaction can develop into a situation where someone becomes vulnerable to exploitation. The attached document highlights some of the warning signs and tactics used by those seeking to exploit others, helping young people to recognise potential risks and make informed decisions while travelling. Please take a few moments to read and share this information with friends, family members, and anyone planning to travel overseas.
