Ashford Neighbourhood Task Force Delivers Positive Result Following Theft Investigation

Following a report of a theft from a property in the Brabourne Lees area, officers from the Ashford Neighbourhood Task Force carried out a number of enquiries which led to the identification and arrest of a suspect.

Through CCTV opportunities, witness enquiries and proactive policing, officers were able to trace the suspect to another district and identify where the stolen property had been taken. Demonstrating a commitment to pursuing all available lines of enquiry, officers travelled outside the Ashford district to locate and arrest the suspect, before carrying out further enquiries that ultimately led to the recovery of the stolen property.

The stolen items were also traced to a separate district, where officers were able to secure CCTV evidence, identify an additional suspect and recover the property before returning it to the victim.

This investigation highlights the determination of local officers to go the extra mile for victims of crime. Regardless of where offenders travel, we will continue to pursue enquiries, work across district boundaries and seek every opportunity to identify suspects, recover stolen property and bring offenders to justice.

The victim expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by officers and the swift recovery and return of their property.

Ashford officers will also be attending a local community briefing at 10am this morning, in the area to provide crime prevention advice, promote My Community Voice sign-ups and discuss the positive work carried out as part of this investigation.
