Community Alert - Canterbury Road Area, Lydden

Dear All,

We would like to make residents aware that over the last two nights there have been two burglaries and one theft of a motor vehicle reported in the Canterbury Road area of Lydden.

These offences are currently being investigated; however, we would encourage all residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to police, particularly during the early hours of the morning. If you see people or vehicles acting suspiciously, or anything that does not seem right, please report it.

Crime Prevention Advice

Ensure all doors and windows are locked, even when you are at home.

Remove keys from doors and keep vehicle keys out of sight and away from letterboxes.

Lock vehicles and do not leave valuables on display.

Consider using steering wheel locks or additional vehicle security devices.

Make use of CCTV, video doorbells, and security lighting where available.

Ensure sheds, garages, and outbuildings are secured with good quality locks.

If going away, ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property and use timers on lights where possible.

If a crime is in progress or there is an immediate threat to life, always call 999. For non-emergency reports or suspicious activity, please contact police via 101 or report online.
