Appeal for Information - Suspicious Individuals - Detling

Kent Police is appealing for information following suspicious activity reported in a field behind St Martin's Church, Detling, between the church, the A249 and the Detling Community Store.

At around 6:30am on Monday 10th August 2026, two individuals were seen in suspicious circumstances that have prompted police enquiries. While this sighting forms part of our enquiries, officers are also interested in any information relating to activity at this location over recent weeks and months.

As enquiries remain ongoing, we are unable to provide further details at this stage. We would ask members of the public to avoid speculation and instead contact police directly with any information that may assist the investigation.

We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who:

• Saw people or vehicles accessing the field, especially during early morning, late evening or hours of darkness.

• Has CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage covering the location or nearby routes.

• Has noticed any unusual activity in or around the field over recent weeks or months.

• Has information about incidents or activity at this location that may assist officers with their enquiries.
