Anti-social use of off-road motorcycles and other motor vehicles

We’ve recently received a number of reports about anti-social use of off-road motorcycles and other motor vehicles on public footpaths and open spaces across (enter location) the behaviour is dangerous, illegal, and putting pedestrians, families, and vulnerable residents at risk of serious harm.

We want to reassure you that this is a priority for your local Community Safety Unit. We understand the impact this is having on the community, from intimidation and noise nuisance to the very real risk of collision or injury.

Today, PC Wilson and PC Harry conducted a joint policing operation alongside the Metropolitan Police, working closely with the Biggin Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team to address concerns regarding antisocial motorcycle use and bike thefts in the areas between Westerham, the surrounding areas and Biggin Hill.

Throughout the operation, a number of drivers were dealt with for various offences, and one motorcycle was seized after checks confirmed it had been reported stolen.

Reassuringly, there were no reports of antisocial bikes in the area during the day. Officers maintained a visible presence within the affected locations for the majority of the shift, providing reassurance to the community and helping to deter offending behaviour.

Kent Police will continue to work in partnership with neighbouring forces to tackle vehicle-related crime and antisocial behaviour affecting our communities.
