Local Officer Update - Central Harbour

Good afternoon, Resident,

I hope you're well and are having a good summer.

I just wanted to provide you with an update of some incidents dealt with by local officers in the area over the last few weeks, in what has been a very busy period, which I have no doubt will continue.

18 year old female arrested and charged with 4 x shoplifting offences and 1 x common assault

33 year old female arrested for 2 x shoplifting offences, for which investigation is ongoing

39 year old male arrested for 4 x shoplifting offences

39 year old male arrested and charged for 2 x shoplifting offences

31 year old male arrested for domestic related incident

23 year old male detained and found in possession of cannabis, for which community resolution issued

2 x juvenile females detained following shoplifting, with goods recovered and returned to store, and a community resolution issued

Fixed Penalty Notices issued to several persons in breach of the Public Space Protection Order

Multiple Community Protection Warnings issued to individuals involved in repeated anti-social behaviour within and around the town centre area

Several multi-agency visits completed to ensure the welfare of those most vulnerable within the area

Some excellent work from the Neighbourhood Task Force over the course of this week in Ellington Park, with enforcement of the Section 34 dispersal following ongoing and repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour within the park. This work is planned to continue throughout the summer months to ensure the area remains a safe and welcoming environment.

Officers are aware of the illegal encampment at the Warre Recreation Ground. There have been several visits to the location by officers. The council are in the process of seeking a court order to remove those present.
